
Mr Mohamed Khatwa
Professional statement
Mr Mohamed Abo-Khatwa is a consultant ENT surgeon based in Devon. He specialises in paediatric otolaryngology, rhinitis, sinusitis, endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty, and rhinoplasty.
Mr Khatwa qualified in 1992 from the University of Alexandria, and conducted his specialist ENT training in the northwest of England and North Wales before becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2000. In 2014, he undertook a year-long accredited fellowship in rhinology at Derriford University Hospital, after which he obtained the GMC specialist registration in otolaryngology and was appointed consultant at Derriford Hospital.
Mr Khatwa is actively contributing to the medical education of undergraduate students as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Exeter Medical School since 2016, where he is also the speciality lead for otolaryngology. In addition to his clinical and educational commitments, Mr Khatwa is an avid researcher, with interests such as snoring disorders, and has had his studies published in international, peer-reviewed journals.
