Mastopexy: Is it the right choice for you?

What is mastopexy?

Unlike breast augmentation, mastopexy does not increase the size of the breasts but focuses on improving their shape and position.

What does the procedure involve?

In the first few days, you may experience swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed pain relief. A surgical support bra is usually worn for several weeks to promote healing and minimise swelling. It’s important to avoid strenuous activities during the recovery period but maintain gentle movements to improve circulation.

Are there risks involved?

As with any surgery, mastopexy carries potential risks. These include infection, changes in nipple sensation, asymmetry, and issues with wound healing. However, these complications are relatively uncommon, especially when the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon.
