Doctor Adam J. de Belder is a highly esteemed and experienced Cardiologist based in Brighton. From his private clinic at Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, he specialises in interventional cardiology, rotational atherectomies, TAVI, chest pain and palpitations. A highly experienced TAVI operator and chief investigator for XIMA and RINCAL trials, he is widely known for his numerous publications on clinical interventional cardiology and his contribution to many national and international meetings over the last 14 years.
After graduating with a Bachelors in medicine in 1986, he went on to complete his post-graduate degree on nitric oxide in cardiovascular disease and was awarded fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians, London. At present, Dr Belder is also a consultant cardiologist to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where he is head of Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and deputy medical director of data and quality. He is also co-chairman of the Sussex Cardiac Network and won the doctor of the year award in 2012.
Dr de Belder is educational supervisor to CMT and all grades of cardiology training and in 2010, won clinical teacher of the year. He is vice president to the British Cardiovascular Society and chairman to the communications and marketing committee.
Dr de Belder's numerous publications can be found throughout the British Medical Journal, Lancet, International Journal of Cardiology, among others. He also has a number of chapters published within the Oxford Textbook of Interventional Cardiology.
