Mr Alan Parbhoo is a highly experienced consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon with private clinics in Spire Harpenden, the Shakespeare Clinic and Bridges Clinic. His areas of expertise include skin cancer, TMJ disorder, facial trauma and deformity, facial cosmetic surgery, salivary gland disease and oral surgery.
After qualifying with his medical degree in 2001, Mr Parbhoo won the gold medal for the FRCS (OMFS) exam, which is awarded to one candidate per year for best performance throughout Great Britain and Ireland. After his higher surgical training, he was appointed to a fully accredited cosmetic and reconstructive surgery fellowship and completed post-graduate medical training in the use of medical lasers.
Alongside his private practice, Mr Parbhoo works at Bedford Hospital for the NHS where he is the clinical lead for oral and maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics, the lead of the facial deformity multi-disciplinary team and deputy chair of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary team. He introduced 3D virtual surgery to the Beds, Herts and Bucks Maxillofacial Network. He is a supervisor for dental trainees and higher surgical trainees in maxillofacial surgery and teaches several international and national courses for the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has published and presented numerous research projects both nationally and internationally and is the proud owner of countless awards, including a 5-star award for patient care.
