Mr Ash Prabhudesai is a leading consultant colorectal, laparoscopic & general surgeon based in London. He has a wide surgical practice, and is an accredited surgeon for laparoscopic (keyhole/ minimally invasive) surgery for colorectal cancer. His main interests are laparoscopic surgery for both general surgical and colorectal conditions, both benign and malignant. He is actively involved in the Enhanced Recovery Programme. He is interested in laparoscopic surgery for gall bladder disease and hernias.

Mr Prabhudesai also has an interest in proctology including management of PR bleeding, minimally invasive treatments for haemorrhoids, perianal sepsis including anal fistulas and Botox for anal fissures. He performs colonoscopies regularly.

​Mr Prabhudesai did a period of research involving the management of rectal cancer at St George’s Hospital, London, for which he was awarded the degree of MD(Research) by the University of London. Furthermore, he obtained training in all aspects of general surgery, with an emphasis on gastrointestinal surgery, in teaching hospitals in London, including Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospitals. He undertook a fellowship at St Mark's Hospital, London, which is an internationally renowned centre for bowel diseases. This was followed by a Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship in Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. He is interested in clinical research and has published in various journals. Mr Prabhudesai has a passion for teaching and regularly holds teaching sessions for medical students and trainee surgeons.
