Dr Bav Shergill is a highly experienced consultant dermatologist based at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, and a part of the MySkinDoctor group. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, and Mohs micrographic surgery.
A graduate of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, Dr Shergill completed his medical training in 1996. Over the years, Dr Shergill has built an extensive background in general dermatology through various posts in London, followed by specialist training in skin cancer and laser surgery at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology.
Dr Shergill is one of the few dermatologists in the UK who has received accredited training in Mohs surgery, a precise technique for treating skin cancer. In 2012, he established the award-winning Mohs unit at Queen Victoria Hospital.
Dr Shergill also offers non-surgical treatments for skin cancer, such as topical creams and photodynamic therapy, always prioritising the least invasive yet effective methods. As a former lead clinician for skin cancer in Sussex, he continues to play a pivotal role in educating healthcare professionals, including GPs, registrars, and nurses, in dermatology and dermatological surgery.
Additionally, Dr Shergill has a keen interest in cosmetic dermatology, having gained extensive experience both at St John’s Institute of dermatology and through ongoing training in the USA. He provides a range of aesthetic treatments, including fillers, chemical peels, and laser procedures, at his clinics in Hove and Worthing. A past president and trustee of the British Cosmetic Dermatologists Group, he is actively involved in educating other doctors on safe and ethical cosmetic procedures.
