Mr David Johnstone is a leading trauma and orthopaedic surgeon based across High Wycombe and Great Missenden. Mr Johnstone runs a busy full time NHS practice at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust as well as private practice at BMI The Chiltern Hospital and BMI The Shelburne Hospital.
Mr Johnstone originally qualified from the University of London in 1985. He went on to pursue specialist training and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1989, completing specialist training and fellowship exams in trauma and orthopaedics in 1996. He has over 22 years of consultant experience, practising at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust since 1997. His specialist interests are in disorders of the hip and knee. He has extensive experience in hip surgery including all forms of hip replacement and revision hip replacement for arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis.
Mr Johnstone has wide experience in knee disorders including knee injuries, ligament injuries, knee arthritis, and cartilage tears, as well as in arthroscopic knee surgery, total knee replacement, unicompartmental knee surgery and revision knee surgery for failed joint replacement. He is an editor at The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery since 2013 and is committed to education and training using evidence based medical practice.
