Dr Dawn Adamson is a leading consultant cardiologist who specialises in general and interventional cardiology and also leads the clinical service of ACHD and Obstetric Cardiology at UHCW.  She assists private patients' at Nuffield Warwick Hospital and BMI The Meriden Hospital, two well-known hospitals with first-class care.

Her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease and valvular disease. She also specialises in obstetric cardiology, the field of cardiology for women with heart disease or suspected heart disease who are pregnant or want to become pregnant. In fact, she is recognised nationally and internationally for her work in obstetric cardiology and has written the Oxford Handbook of Heart Disease and pregnancy. She also offers cardiac screeningheart disease prevention and interventional treatments

She has gained numerous achievements throughout her career. Dr Adamson is part of a large primary angioplasty service and was elected to appear on the programme committee for the British Cardiovascular Society.  She is now secretary for the West Midlands Physicians Association and treasurer of the UK maternal Cardiac Society.  She also sits on the NHS England Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest steering committee.  Furthermore, she is an avid researcher and has contributed to her field with medical research into interventional and obstetric cardiology.

Dr Adamson also works closely with a number of aeromedical examiners offering CAA certification at PAPL, class 1 and 2 levels.
