Mr Julian Gilbody is an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon based in Manchester specialising in knee and hip replacements, revision hip replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and general trauma. He uses cutting edge technology tailored individually to each patient to provide the best results and fastest rehabilitation process possible. He is currently the clinical governance lead for hip fractures and leads a fracture clinic transformation team at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Mr Gilbody qualified in medicine in 1997 from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine (part of the University of London), before completing his higher surgical training in the West Midlands. He went on to complete fellowships in advanced arthroplasty surgery at the prestigious Exeter Hip Unit and at Toronto Western Hospital.
Throughout his career, Mr Gilbody has been actively involved in research, publishing a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is involved with training the next generation of surgeons, teaching surgical trainees in the North West and medical students from the University of Manchester.
