Mr Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos is an internationally recognised London-based Thoracic (Chest) Surgeon and a leader in the field of Robotic Thoracic Surgery. Currently, he is working at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic London, one of the largest private hospitals in UK with an international reputation. In December 2015, his team at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) performed the first robotic lung resection in London. Since then, Mr Panagiotopoulos is utilising the latest Da Vinci Xi Robot for the management of various benign and malignant conditions of the chest. These include lung resections (lobectomy, segmentectomy, lymph node dissection, metastases from other types of cancer), thymectomy (removal of the thymus gland for Myasthenia Gravis, Thymoma, Thymic Carcinoma, Thymic cyst), resection of cyst (Pericardial or Bronchogenic cyst), plication/repair for paralysed/ruptured diaphragm, sympathectomy for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and long QT syndrome, removal of chest wall schwannoma and other neurogenic tumours.
