Mr Rishi Chana is a top consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon based in London and the surrounding area, who specialises in lower limb surgery - particularly surgery of the hip and knee. He is an expert in performing arthroscopy of both the hip and knee, joint preservation surgery, and hip and knee replacements.
Mr Chana graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine (University of London), before completing postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery in the South-East. He continued with specialist training in hip and knee surgery, including fellowships at the world-renowned Specialist Orthopaedic Group and North Sydney Orthopaedic Sports & Medicine Centre and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, before completing his last fellowship in Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals.
Mr Chana's approach to hip and knee surgery is to try to preserve the joint if possible. He has developed a protocol for regenerative adult stem cell therapy, in which cells are taken from the patient's bone marrow and combined with collagen to help him to scaffold to preserve the joint. He is keen to make sure his patients have a smooth recovery and rehabilitation. He is actively involved in research and some of his publications have had a big impact on his field.
