Dr Sandip Ghosh is an expert consultant endocrinologist based in Birmingham, who specialises in the management of all aspects of diabetes. His areas of interests include the management of diabetes and its complications, obesity, management of diabetes for surgery/pregnancy, new therapies and technologies related to diabetes and disorders of sex hormone abnormality, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, and pituitary disease.
Dr Sandip Ghosh ensures that he provides his patients the highest level of quality of care, and was awarded the UK Diabetes Healthcare Professional of the Year 2017 by the Quality in Care (QIC) programme.
Dr Ghosh leads the Inpatient Diabetes Service at the University Hospital Birmingham, has been involved in developing several guidelines for managing patients with diabetes, and has led on a number of Quality Improvement projects to improve patient carewhich have been widely recognised nationally.
He is passionate about teaching and training fellow doctors and medical students, and is a regular examiner for the Royal College of Physicians UK and the medical school of the University of Birmingham.
He is actively associated with diabetes research and is a member of the Diabetes Translational Research Group, University Hospital Birmingham. He has authored a number of peer-reviewed articles in medical journals.
He has been a consultant endocrinologist for more than a decade and undertakes medico-legal review for medical negligence cases.
