Dr Sudhakar George is a highly skilled consultant interventional and structural cardiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham, bringing a wealth of experience gained from some of the most prestigious institutions. He is passionate about managing a broad range of adult cardiology conditions such as palpitations, chest pain, collapse, dizziness, and breathlessness. He currently practises privately at The Harborne Hospital.
A Cambridge University graduate, Dr George’s early medical training took him across the UK, including posts in Cambridge, Bristol, Manchester, and Brighton. He furthered his expertise by completing an MD in structural cardiology at the University of Sussex, focusing on cutting-edge research in the field. His subspecialty training in interventional cardiology was undertaken in the West Midlands Deanery, and he later advanced his skills through the prestigious BCIS international fellowship at the Green Lane Unit in Auckland, New Zealand.
Dr George is particularly renowned for his expertise in cardiac catheterisation, angioplasty, and the use of advanced intravascular imaging and pressure wire techniques. In addition, he has extensive experience in complex structural procedures, including the closure of post-infarction ventricular septal defects.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr George is actively involved in cardiology research and plays a pivotal role in the training of future cardiologists.
