Bob Handley and Xavier Griffin introduce a presentation on unstable pertrochanteric fractures during day 1 of the Orthopaedic Trauma Society's 2017 annual conference. Bob Handley was an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellow at Harborview Medical Center, a level 1 facility in Seattle, USA. In 1994 he returned to England to Oxford as a Consultant. Xavier Griffin graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1999 before attending medical school at the University of Oxford. He completed his basic surgical residency in 2007 and entered orthopaedic specialist training as a NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at Warwick University. We are The Orthopaedic Trauma Society. Our aim is to represent the interests of all those treating Orthopaedic Trauma in the UK and to become a forum for the advancement of Orthopaedic Trauma surgery and a focus for research, training and education.
