Dismissive , Arrogant doctor who fails to listen to patients and lacks effective planning and management. He will not engage with patients and can shown continued rudeness during consultations without looking to understand patient issues, concerns or symptoms .

I have been seeing Dr Al-Memar for over a year now. I am still suffering with the exact same symptoms that I had originally booked to see him for and over the time no treatments have been offered to help ease them at all. Instead, he has drawn attention to other problems that I neither knew existed nor particularly care about treating. He does not seem to listen to me and every time I see him he seems to completely forget everything he said to me in the previous appointment and does not follow through with any of the proposed treatment plans outlined.

Dr Al- Memar is a most exceptional neurologist. He listened, reflected and then gave me a comprehensive explanation of my condition. He provided a description and lesson about the nervous system so that I could understand my problems. He has excellent communication skills and demonstrates empathy.

Dr Al-Memar is an exceptional neurologist, explained my results, arranged prompt tests and diagnosed my condition in a clear, concise manner. I couldn't praise him more, a great doctor.

I went to see Dr Al-Memar having found him online, my physiotherapist told me I should get a neurologist's opinion following a suspected femoral nerve problem after a laparoscopic radical hysterectomy. I was not able to lift or move my left leg to the right, after the operation, and my walking was impaired. I had not been able to find out why this was happening, or what I could do about it. Dr Al-Memar listened carefully to me, and performed several tests. He recommended I should have an MRI and an EMG test to confirm the diagnosis, but he was sure I had a femoral neuropathy caused by being in the lithotomy position (stirrups) for so long during the operation. I had the tests and his diagnosis was confirmed. He was very reassuring, knowledgeable and caring throughout, and gave me advice about exercises and physio, to strengthen the muscles in my leg which were affected by the dead nerve. He saw me about five times throughout. Fortunately the nerve did regenerate (this was not clear at first) and I am now well on the way to a complete recovery, which should continue to develop over the next year. I am very grateful to him for his knowledge and care.

I went to see Dr. Al-memar after having a reaction to the drug metaclopramide, which was prescribed to me by an NHS doctor. Immediately after taking the drug, I developed terrible muscle spasms, internal tremors, muscle pain, and restlessness that didn't go away even after stopping them. I decided to go to a private neurologist after being told I would have to wait 3 months under the NHS to even find out what was wrong. The physical torture was unbearable and I was terrified that waiting this long might lessen my chances of recovery if any treatments were available. When I came to his office and told him what happened, he immediately asserted that there was no way the drug could have caused this, despite the fact that it is a well-known, medically documented fact that metaclopramide causes movement related disorders. (It even said so in the references used by the emergency room staff I saw when I first had the symptoms; they also said they were "common", especially in women.) He then attempted to convince me that I needed to go on a wild goose chase of tests to rule out the possibility of other causes, which were "much more likely" (including the possiblity that I had somehow developed parkinsons at the exact same time that I took metaclopramide (though not because of the drug)--despite being completely normal before.) When I tried to explain that I knew it was the drug because I had no symptoms before and I had researched and found other stories exactly like mine, he continued fighting me, saying it was impossible, until finally, when I wouldn't relent, he "compromised" saying "he doubted it was the drug, but he would "keep an 'open mind'". I eventually got diagnosed by another neurologist in the United States (I am American). He confirmed that I had tardive dyskinesia and akathesia caused by metaclopramide. Either Dr. Al-memar is completely ignorant in his profession or he was well aware and decided to gaslight me to protect the doctor who prescribed me. Either way, would not recommend him to anyone. Got a bill of 300 pounds just to have my experience minimized and be convinced I was crazy for refusing to be fed information that didn't make sense. I complained about the experience and he wrote back saying he "disagreed" he did any of this, but I think the facts speak for themselves.

Dr Al Memar was smiling upon calling my Father from the waiting area and this was refreshing greeting. He appropriately listened to both my father and I and gave appropriate instructions to my father to test him and gather further facts. Since following up on memory and behaviour issues since prior to November 2017 this, is the first time our family has felt listened to and taken seriously without dismissal of facts and belittling our concerns. Both my father and I are so thankful and lucky to have come across such a kind hearted, knowledgable and professional Doctor and hope that we would manage to see him again following a require scan. Thank you so much, Dr A. Al Memar from the bottom of our hearts.

Best Dr I've come across for years. Very friendly and goes out of his way to help people. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and the pain was unbearable. He showed me this diet that within days the pain subsided making my life a bit more comfortable. This man is great. I wouldn't want anyone else now.
