• He has created a unique website www.colorectaleducation.com to provide information and support to patients and carers as well as teaching and training for healthcare professionals. This unique integrated website covers a range of colorectal diseases from cancer to less serious conditions, The site is constantly updated and new sections are being added regularly. Incredibly positive feedback worldwide.
• He has been a Preceptor for Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery with Ethicon Endosurgery® Ltd. since 2008.
• External Professor of Coloproctology, the University of Glamorgan (now University of South Wales).
• He has supervised several research fellows working towards Higher Degrees.
• He has participated in training via courses and workshops for the European Surgical Institute of Hamburg, Laparoscopic Colorectal Training Course since 2008.
• He has given numerous local, regional and international lectures on aspects of colorectal surgery.
• He has provided local, national and international workshops and courses for surgeons, nurses and students.
• He has mentored several trainees as well as non-medical staff for many audit and research activities. Many of the trainees that he has mentored in their last years of training have now progressed to consultants.
• Lead Clinical Supervisor for several research fellows (post-MRCS/ FRCS) registered with the University of Glamorgan/South Wales. These candidates obtained their degrees (MPhil) after successfully defending their theses, many of whom have gone on to become consultant surgeons.
• He has taught many online webinar departmental courses and workshops, and has many more upcoming courses.
