Mr Shabin Joshi is a leading London neurosurgeon who currently sees patients at BMI The Meriden Hospital, BMI Three Shires Hospital and Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital. Mr Joshi carries out all types of spinal surgery and has a particular interest in minimally invasive (keyhole) spinal surgery.
Mr Joshi has a keen interest in (keyhole) percutanous procedures for spinal surgery to facilitate rapid recovery. He has interests in bone cement injections in tumour related spine fractures and osteoporotic for pain relief and prompt mobilisation. Other treatments he carries out include awake craniotomies, intraoperative neuro-navigation, and endoscopic cranial surgery. He has participated in artificial disc replacement for cases where spinal surgery has been necessary to minimise adjacent discs degeneration and maintain motion of the anatomy.
Mr Joshi is the brain tumour Lead in Coventry. Whilst training in London he performed landmark clinical studies and presentations on endoscopic pituitary surgery, minimally invasive spinal fusion, and bone cement injections in collapsed vertebrae. Mr Joshi has published and presented widely on spinal pathologies, brain tumours, minimally invasive cranial and spinal operations, spine trauma and head injury. He has held posts as a specialist registrar at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square), Barts and the London Hospitals. He completed a neurosurgery fellowship at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Mr Joshi trained in minimally invasive techniques at several centres in Europe and the USA.
