A total expert in his field, totally come with my recommendation. Kept us 100% informed at all times on my sons toe condition with a superb outcome. The care also given in Cardiff Spire by the anaesthetist all the other surgical team to the catering staff was exemplary

I received excellent care from Mr Perera during my short stay in hospital for keyhole bunion surgery and during every follow up appointment. He addressed any concerns I had swiftly and I had complete confidence in him from start to finish.

Mr. Antony Perera was exceptional in the pre & post surgery detailing. I felt comfortable and confident every step of the way because of the way he articulated himself. The surgery was a big success and I have made a faster recovery than expected. I would highly recommend.

My experience with Anthony was very professional with a personal touch, I felt well informed about my problems and injuries and with the procedures I could have going forward, I also felt safe and reassured with Anthony performing the operation.

Appointment proceeded as expected

I had a cheiliectomy to my left foot . Post op I took only paracetemol and felt no significant pain. Mr Perera did a wonderful job. I mobilised weight bearing immediately post op and was discharged same day. I have been mobile since but rested and elevated as advised when home.

I was able to see Mr Perera quickly at spire and once telling him my symptoms he was able to fix my issue with my foot straight away. I’m now back at the gym and having zero issues with my foot.

Mr Perera had been recommended to me by my podiatrist after it became clear that to be able to continue playing football pain free I would require surgery. Mr Perera was amazing. He clearly explained exactly what the issues were with my foot and leg. He then gave me a detailed breakdown on how he could help to ensure that I could play football pain free. He not only had considered the proposed operation but also the fact that I would continue to play a sport I love for as long as possible, which in turn would improve my mental well being. Following the consultation I feel confident that my foot issues will be resolved. Mr Perera was a true professional, patient and kind.

Surgery with Mr Perera following an ankle dislocation has allowed me to get back to playing rugby in the Premiership. He has been available at short notice if I ever needed additional treatment and support to minimise time away from training and playing.

I attended Mr Perera clinic, for an examination on my ankle. Was more than pleased with the information provided by the doctor. He also said due to me being a runner he came up with the diagnosis of a Torn Plantar Plate along with providing me with a treatment plan to try and cure the problem.

Excellent surgeon, expert in his field. Fixed my ankle problems after a previous fix by NHS a few years back failed. I am so pleased with the result and I can walk without pain again. Would definitely recommend him.

Mr Perera performed a posterior ankle arthroscopy following pain after ankle fracture. I can finally walk pain free after 2 years. I would definitely recommend Mr Perera, he also has a lovely bedside manner and really listens to you.

My 18 year old daughter saw Anthony earlier this week after badly injuring her ankle playing netball. My daughter’s physio recommended him to us to us and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish.  The appointment was booked quickly and communication was clear. We received a call with an offer of an earlier appointment which was very welcome.  The consultation with Anthony was excellent. He took time to understand everything about the injury, how it had happened, and why it was important for my daughter that it was sorted out. As well as the ankle injury, he asked about her history of playing netball, all her previous injuries, and how she’d progressed. He really took the time to understood how much it mattered to her and he explained the context of how all of this information was key to determining the best treatment.  We were amazed at how thorough his physical assessment was as well. He took the MRI data we already had, explained in detail what it showed, and sent her for an X-ray to get more information. With all this he was able to see exactly what was wrong and how it can be fixed - and he explained it all to my daughter very clearly.  The surgery will be done at a hospital closer to our home, by a surgeon Anthony referred us to, and he’s spoken to them himself to make sure everything is clear.  I can’t recommend Anthony enough. He’s truly an expert in ankle injuries and he’s professional, empathetic, and very thorough.

I recently fell and injured my ankle. I was advised to see a consultant after visiting a physio and was lucky enough to get an appointment with Anthony. Anthony is a real expert in his field, friendly and explains things in laymans terms. Arranged for x-rays and an MRI scan to be completed urgently and then performed surgery for an ankle sprain and syndesmosis injury. The care I received before, during & after surgery was fantastic & I would highly recommend anyone with ankle problems to see Mr Perera.

Anthony assisted me with my recovery from an Achilles tendon rupture. My background is playing Rugby which Anthony had plenty of experience in previously. I would highly recommend Anthony as your consultant in recovery from this injury due to his caring and informative nature.

Excellent care from start to finish . I cannot fault the way I have been treated by Mr Perera . I struck gold when I discovered him . A kind , compassionate and caring man who has left me pain free . I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for foot surgery

I could not be happier with the keyhole surgery for Haglunds Syndrome I received from Mr. Perara. He was informative, answered all my questions, and was always pleasant with a reassuring smile. The surgery was a great success with recovery much shorter that expected.

My gran has recently been using a brace designed by Anthony Perera and colleagues for her ankle (specifically flat foot and tibialis posterior tendon damage). It has given her unbelievable support and assistance while walking. Very pleased and grateful.

I arranged an appointment with Dr Perera following an accident on holiday which left me unable to bear any weight on my left foot. After my first appointment I knew I was good hands. Dr Perera did a thorough examination, took the time to talk through my complex medical history, referred me for an X-ray and blood tests and we also talked about my expectations to return to exercise, in particular being able to run again without being in pain. I was diagnosed with a stress fracture and given a treatment plan. A second X-Ray has shown excellent progress. I would highly recommend Dr Perera, he is very knowledgeable, explains things clearly and was happy to answer all of my questions. I’m very happy with my treatment.

Mr Perera is the best foot surgeon I've ever come across in 30+ years of foot pain, one failed op. and another one due. It was recommended that I went for a second opinion consultation with Mr Perera who was thorough & did not mind at all that I was just asking for a 2nd opinion.

I fractured my ankle and arranged a consultation with Anthony that week. A full comprehensive assessment; followed by great explanation of the diagnosis and plan ahead. I definitely know what top level care and professionalism looks like; Anthony most definitely provides both.

Mr Parera totally understood my problem . He was very thorough in his examinations and conclusions and gave advice on what could be done for me.

I received excellent care for a ganglion and plantar fasciitis. Time was taken to listen to me, and sensible plan was put in place. Would highly recommend Mr Perera.

After seeing my GP, podiatrists & trying various gadgets, spacers etc I thought that maybe surgery might be my best option to sort out my painful bunion & overlapping second toe on my left foot. Mr Perera was recommend to me & after doing a bit of research, I made an appoint to see him, during the appointment he examined my foot, sent me for X-rays & explained what the surgery would entail. I then had bunion & fore foot realignment day surgery at Spire Cardiff, the operation was performed by Mr Perera using a minimally invasive procedure via keyhole surgery. The care I received from Mr Perera both before & after my surgery was superb & I would thoroughly recommend anyone with foot (or ankle) problems to to see him. I’m planning on having surgery on my right foot in the new year.

Highly recommend seeing Dr Perera. Had foot issues for years with frequent trips to the GP but sadly nothing helped. First appointment with Dr Perera & a scan straight after followed by an injection. Few days later laterally no pain. Very happy.

I had my operation on 30/04/2022. Dr Parerra and his staff were incredible from start to finish. I was in a bad place mentally before my operation I had so many problem's because of the weakness in my ankle. The ligaments were damaged and required reconstructive surgery. Before the operation i was constantly falling down in a lot of pain. Within 3 months i was on my feet and raring to go. The aftercare was as impressive as the diagnostic stage. I was soon back to enjoying the beautiful Bavarian town of Fussen and doing the hiking, cliff jumping and other outdoor activities I couldn't do for so long. I can't thank Dr Parerra enough for the way i was looked after and how great i feel now.

After having been referred to Mr Perera for a second opinion after multiple previous operations. Mr Perera thoroughly investigated the route cause of my problems and performed a revision surgery. His expertise and specialist skills have now fixed my problem and I thank him for his patience and confidence in successfully achieving a positive result.

Mr Perera id'd lateral process fracture in my foot and significant other injuries that were consistent with “Snowboarders Ankle”. He was really knowledgeable on the injuries sustained and was really patient and clear on answering my questions and explaining what was going on.

I am 14 weeks post bunion keyhole surgery.The care I have received has been first class.Mr Perera explained everything in detail, he was kind, caring and professional and was always available to answer any of my questions. I am delighted with the results.

First class. Severe pain in right foot. Underwent 1st MTP fusion, correction of lesser toes and right distal metatarsal minimally invasive osteotomies. Excellent outcome. Highly recommend Mr Perera. Professional, knowledgable expert.

Very pleased with the keyhole surgery on my bunion .pain and bunion now gone recovery was a lot quicker this way also. Fantastic surgeon and staff. Will be having the same procedure on my second foot soon thank you Anthony Perera

I had my big toe fused by Mr Perera 3 months ago due to pain and swelling in the joint due to arthritis, Mr Perera has now discharged me from his care as he is now happy with my recovery.

ankle Syndesmosis injury from rugby, ankle is feeling so much better than before, I would really recommend mr Perera for Sugery or consultations!

I saw Mr Perera today at the Spire Hospital in Cardiff. Mr Perera is an exceptionally intelligent and kind chap who is a leading expert in his field. I left the appointment knowing I could not be in better hands.

Would recommend! Bad injury in november, with no answers why ,6 months on still in pain. Seen mr perera and within a few days he got me a CT scan and further investigation.

Mr Perera has been excellent from the first consultation and through my recovery. He explains things very thoroughly and tells you what to expect. The results are amazing and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering foot or ankle surgery

Mr Anthony Perera is caring surgeon and out my mind at rest from the first consultation, the day of my surgery and subsequent visits to make sure my foot was completely healed. I would not hesitate to ask for his advice on further surgery.
