I cannot recommend Mr Elson highly enough and can only marvel at his expertise which has greatly enhanced my life at 74 years old.

Mr Elson was superb on every level. Down to Earth caring enthusiastic.

Would definitely recommend Dr Elson. I had a first class experience from first consultation to post operation care. I was very impressed.

The great thing about David Elson is that not only is he a brilliant surgeon/doctor but he is also a great communicator. He fully briefed me in a language that I could understand and made the whole anxious experience almost pleasurable. Minimul pain and speedy recovery - 5 star

I tore my ACL playing football and from my very first point of contact via phone with Dr Elson I could not fault him at all, he listened to what I had to say in regards to my injury and discussed it thoroughly, from there we agreed an MRI would be beneficial before a face to face consultation. At the face to face consultation Dr Elson was faultless again, he made me feel very relaxed and comfortable, he examined my knee and discussed the findings of my MRI which was a fully ruptured ACL. He then discussed my options thoroughly and we decided surgery was the best option for me. Surgery day I was very nervous but again Dr Elson was amazing, his calming, kind and empathetic manner made me feel so relaxed. Could not recommend Dr Elson enough, I was always made to feel comfortable and never felt rushed even if he was running behind, hopefully I won’t need treatment of this nature again but if I ever do i will certainly be contacting Dr Elson again.

Updating/repairing of room equipment would have made my stay more comfortable. Also lack of equipment etc. left me to find my own when I returned home

Highly recommend MrElson he did a fantastic reconstruction of my ACL with minimal scarring. I found him to be very professional yet down to earth and easy to talk to.

I found Mr Elson to be really approachable and very patient with my many questions. He took the time to not only understand the issues but also to explore what outcomes I was hoping for. Mr Elson was great from beginning to end. He intially spoke to me on the phone after I booked online. During our face to face appointment he was friendly, warm and welcoming. He really spent time getting to understand the difficulties I was having with my knee and reflecting on potential options to help moving forward. Thankfully nothing was needed imminently and he even gave be a better outlook on my knee than I had been given previously, this was invaluable. Great guy and highly recommended

Found Mr Elson very easy to talk to. Professional and approachable.

From booking my initial consultation with Mr Elson to the actual surgery was just over three weeks. The consultation was not rushed and all alternatives were explained in depth. I decided to go for a partial knee replacement. I am no longer in pain and fully active. Very happy.

No-one wants to have to have a knee replacement. But if you do, I would have no issues in recommending Mr Elson to take up the task.

Whole thing was impressive and filled me with confidence

Fantastic Surgeon! I’d had an accident and I was in a lot of pain. Mr Elson managed to reconstruct my knee ligament as my own was too weak. I can now walk again and bend and straighten my leg! The whole process was discussed in detail and the level of care was exceptional!

Mobility before my partial knee operation, was very limited. I had the operation, it took a lot of hard work, had to stick with it, two years on and well pleased. Mr David Elson, great guy, friendly and professional consultant would use again if needed.

Very pleased with assessment and outcome of my consultation with Mr Elson, thanks to him I can now walk pain free. He immediately identified the de-generation in my knee and offered a solution, which he carried out to the highest of standards. I wholly recommend Mr Elson.

I was very apprehensive coming to terms that I needed a partial knee replacement but David put my mind at rest and we agreed it was the best possible way forward. I'm back to golfing , cycling and walking with no pain. I have full range of motion and back to my normal activities

Many thanks for taking the time to write this review. It’s always difficult to decide what to do when you reach the threshold for surgery (usually when your symptoms are diminishing your quality of life). I’m delighted that your partial knee replacement has afforded your return to normal function without pain.

Mr Elson is the consummate professional in all regards. Approachable and knowledgeable, he provides clarity regarding potential courses of action for the patient, helping them choose their preferred care route. He offers support throughout the care journey. My preferred surgeon.

A miracle worker! I had my op for total knee replacement on 4/5/22 and was discharged from hospital next day. Prior to this I couldn’t walk up the stairs without severe pain, or walk more than 20m. It is now 14/6/22 and I can get up and down stairs & walk no problem. Thank you

Excellent service by all very dubious about having a TKR in first place but now wouldn’t hesitate to have second one if the need should ever arise great to be pain free with excellent movement full marks to surgeon

A very easy and pleasant experience

After delay of over an Hour The consultation progressed satisfactory

Parking very near the entry/ exit was extremely helpful for this visit . The time frame for the consultation was particularly useful in view of the drive to/from home to Nuffield . I left feeling that my visit to Mr Elsom was well worth the effort !

From the onset of my consultations to the after care following my surgery my dealings with Mr Elson was First Class. He kept me thoroughly up to date on all aspects of my procedure and his follow up care was exceptional

Excellent.

Mr Elson performed the Oxford operation (partial reconstruction) on both my knees. The results have been fantastic. I can now cycle, climb, and walk freely
