Prof was brought in by another consultant to fix my problem. He has a wonderful ability to listen & then uses his vast knowledge to make you better whilst explaining everything & supporting you. He never rushes to surgery if the issue can be fixed naturally. You are in safe hands

Mr Purkayastha was incredibly kind and empathetic. Throughout the whole process I felt incredibly supported and understood. I consider the surgery the best thing I’ve ever done and it’s been truly life changing.

After 7 consultations with 'top' bariatric doctors - Dr Sanjay is hands down the best we have seen. He is the most phenomenal doctor. You need someone with his empathy, multidisciplinary support & guidance in this process. Absolutely cannot fault him.

Mr Purkayastha resolved my acute and chronic abdominal pain, after seeing multiple doctors. He is thorough and professional, and actively listened, showing empathy, and due care, before resolving my issues. I can't overrate this awesome human & doctor.

The level of care Dr Sanjay Purkayastha shows is really reassuring compared to 2 other surgeons I have seen before deciding to stick with Dr Sanjay for my surgery. He’s given level of confidence with facts and information I needed.

My Purkayasta has an exceptionally empathetic manner. He is thoughtful, sensitive and reassuring. There was no rush to the consultation, instead he was a really engaged, focussed doctor who wanted to truly listen my concerns. Highly recommended.

Though I found Marcela (PA to Sanjay) very pleasant and friendly I did have to constantly contact her to find things out and did leave messages and emails which were not answered.

One of the best doctors. Professional, supportive, friendly. The operation went perfectly. Highly recommend

Mr Purkayastha has been excellent, both in communicating clearly and fully, and as far as I can tell in the surgery itself. His office, however, was very hard to communicate with, not answering the phone or returning voice messages or answering emails.

Everything was explained in great detail by Mr Purkayastha I feel so reassured as I know every medical worry I had was answered and all tests carried out were explained in detail and put me at ease.

Mr Purkayastha performed my splenectomy due to giant cyst inside. Highly recommend to all, wouldn’t have chosen anyone else. 10/10 to him and his team.

An outstanding surgeon with a fantastic team. Sanjay explained in great detail each part of the surgery and went to great lengths to ensure I was prepared mentally and physically. Heavily focused on procedure and accuracy, I felt in very safe hands.

It was a very stressful situation and I was made completely comfortable and put Addys by my surgeon and all of the staff. If I had a question or a concern there was always someone there to answer and put me at ease. My follow up post surgery was equally as good and efficient.

Complex problems can be often solved by taking time to listen to patients carefully and arranging the appropriate investigations to rule out or confirm potential diagnoses. Mr Purkayastha always came across as caring and considerate, but also of course extremely competent. I had 4 procedures over a number of years and all went well with no complications.
