Dr Alex Pavlovic

Dr Alex Pavlovic is a senior consultant psychiatrist and medical psychotherapist based at Private Therapy Clinic. He specialises in general adult psychiatry, medical psychotherapy, and gender identity. He holds leadership positions within the NHS and works in a large teaching mental health trust in Sheffield, where he also trained.

With dual qualifications in General Adult Psychiatry and Medical Psychotherapy, Dr Pavlovic has extensive experience in complex psychiatric assessments, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and gender dysphoria evaluations. He has been on the Ministry of Justice list as a Gender Specialist for several years, providing diagnostic assessments, endocrine treatment recommendations, follow-ups, and second opinions for gender-affirming surgeries. He also prepares medico-legal reports, including reports for Gender Recognition Certificates.

Dr Pavlovic is a Medical Psychotherapist with a primary focus on psychodynamic therapy, but he also incorporates CBT and systemic/family-integrative approaches when appropriate. His psychotherapy practice is flexible and patient-centred, utilising purely psychoanalytic methods when suitable, while also adopting more eclectic approaches when needed.
