Mr Benjamin Snowden

Mr Benjamin Snowden is a highly regarded consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he works within one of the largest maternity services in North and East Yorkshire, supported by a tertiary neonatal intensive care unit. He also offers private practice services at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital.

Mr Snowden graduated from Hull York Medical School in 2013 and became the first HYMS graduate to be appointed as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist within the region. He completed his specialist training through the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery and gained membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2022.

His clinical interests include advanced labour ward care, benign gynaecology, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, and comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care. He has significant experience in both gynaecological surgery and the management of complex, high-risk pregnancies.

Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Mr Snowden is actively involved in medical education and leadership. He currently serves as Interim SITM/ATSM Director for the Yorkshire and Humber School of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has previously held the role of senior honorary lecturer at Hull York Medical School and was nominated for the 2023 HEAT “Contribution to Medical Education” award. In addition, he is the obstetric lead for the BaBi Hull site.
