Professional statement
Dr Billy White is an expert paediatrician and consultant in adolescent diabetes and obesity. He is one of the few consultants in the UK with specialist expertise in the management of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents. Dr White is also a general adolescent physician, providing a range of treatments and support for young people, including the treatment of acne and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). He leads the University College London Hospitals diabetes transition programme, which prepares teenagers to succeed in the next stage of their life, progressing to adulthood. Dr White is also an active researcher and is particularly interested in adolescent weight management. His PhD was obtained from University College London, where he now holds the position of honorary senior lecturer.
