Dr Carole Ridge is a consultant interventional radiologist specialising in CT scans, coronary CT and cardiac MRI, alongside chest CT, interventional oncology and radiography. She privately practices at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre, while her NHS base is Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Ridge’s areas of expertise also include heart and lung imaging, cardiovascular disease, emphysema, pulmonary embolism, and imaging for heart disease and lung disease. Her advanced imaging techniques, such as cardiac MRI and coronary CT, enable accurate diagnosis and management of complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions. She also contributes significantly to interventional oncology, using minimally invasive imaging-guided techniques to treat cancer patients.
She completed her medical degree at the National University of Ireland (University College Dublin) in 2003 and holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFRRCSI). Additionally, she is a member of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (MRCPI). Dr Ridge’s extensive training included international experience at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Medical School in Boston, US, and Weill Cornell Medical Centre in New York, US, where she held various academic and mentoring roles.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Ridge is an honorary senior clinical research fellow at Imperial College London and has held teaching positions at several renowned institutions, including University College Dublin School of Medicine and Health Science. She has mentored and tutored numerous medical students and trainees, helping to develop the next generation of radiologists.
Dr Ridge is actively involved in research and publications. She serves as editor for the Lung Cancer Journal and contributes regularly as a reviewer and author to leading peer-reviewed journals. She is also a sought-after speaker, presenting her research findings at national and international conferences.
Dr Ridge is a member of several prominent professional organisations, including the Society of Thoracic Radiology, the Radiologic Society of North America, the European Society of Radiology, and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging. Her dedication to her field ensures she stays at the forefront of advancements in diagnostic and interventional radiology, providing her patients with cutting-edge care and treatment options.
