
Dr Catherine Fernando
Professional statement
Dr Catherine Fernando is a portfolio GP based in East Lothian. She is co-director of IYASU Healthcare, and specialises in the treatment of rashes, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, seborrhoeic dermatitis, melasma, and the diagnosis of moles.
Dr Fernando qualified from the University of Aberdeen in 2001. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practioners and the Royal College of Physicians. She has diploma in practical dermatology with distinction from Cardiff University, as well as diplomas in child health, sexual and reproductive health, and obstetrics & gynaecology. Dr Fernando has extensive experience in dermaotology, rheumatology and women’s health.
Outside of the practice, Dr Fernando participates in medical education nationally and is a tutor on the Edinburgh Regional GPST Training Programme. She is the founder and CEO of IYASU Vegan Medical Bags, a line of bags designed especially for female healthcare professionals.
