Mr Chetan Bhan is a leading consultant colorectal surgeon based in London. A highly-skilled general surgeon and an advanced colorectal surgeon, Mr Bhan specialises in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, keyhole surgery, pelvic surgery, rectal surgery and hernias.
Mr Bhan qualified from Guy's and St Thomas' medical school in 1998. Following medical school, he undertook his surgical training in London and spent two years researching lower gastrointestinal functional disorders and pelvic floor disorders. Mr Bhan completed his training in Sydney, Australia where he undertook a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic techniques in colorectal surgery.
Aiming to provide cutting-edge treatments for his patients, Mr Bhan is an expert in minimally invasive techniques and single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS), procedures which cut recovery time and minimise scarring during surgery.
An innovator and a clinical lead, he is responsible for the development of the SILS colorectal service at the Whittington Hospital, London.
