Dr Chrissie Yu is a leading London based consultant obstetrician & specialist in fetal maternal medicine. She sees patients at The Portland Hospital and The Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital. Dr Yu also works in an NHS role at The London North West Healthcare Trust, as well as at Imperial College NHS Trust as a consultant obstetrician.
Dr Yu has extensive experience in all areas of obstetrics but also has a special interest in medical disorders in both mothers and babies, and high risk pregnancies. She offers care for unborn babies and also provides gynaecological care for women, those who are in their late teenage years through to menopause and beyond. She is skilled at performing invasive procedures such as chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis, and offers a holistic and tailored approach to treatment. She is an expert in performing pelvic scans and cervical smears, she also offers contraception consultations, and sexual health advice.
Dr Yu was awarded an MD from the University of London for her outstanding work, which involved research into pre-eclampsia. After she qualified with a medical degree from The University of London in 1994, she went on to complete an extensive rotational training scheme in obstetrics and gynaecology. Dr Yu has been a consultant with the NHS for over 20 years.
She is an avid researcher and has carried out various investigations into pre-eclampsia, one of her main areas of expertise. She has completed a fellowship with The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2016, and has had work published in numerous world-renowned medical journals.
