Mr Dario Inzerillo is a highly respected consultant ophthalmic surgeon who is well-known in England and overseas for his extensive experience in ophthalmology. Among other eye diseases, his principal interest is in refractive cataract surgery and in the diagnosis and treatment of AMD (age-related macular degeneration), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and the delivery of intravitreal injections and different laser treatments.
Since 2015, Mr Inzerillo has been a consultant at the Southampton Eye Unit of the University Hospital Southampton with a special interest in cataract surgery and medical retina. He is also the current lead of the Intravitreal Injection Service of the Department for the treatment of several retinal diseases including wet AMD, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion.
Mr Inzerillo is also the governance lead for ophthalmology thanks to his deep and specialist interest in patient safety. Over the years, Mr Inzerillo has offered his support to many charity projects in less-developed regions in Africa, Asia, and in Central and South America.
