Dr Debajit Phukan is a renowned consultant in anaesthetics and pain management in Surrey. He specialises in general anaesthesia, back and neck pain and sciatica. He is also an expert in neuropathic pain and pain conditions, particularly trigeminal neuralgia.
Dr Phukan qualified in medicine in 1995 from Dibrugarh University, India before obtaining a further diploma in anaesthetics from Delhi University. He later relocated to the UK where he pursued further training at St. George's School of Anaesthesia in London. He is an appointed fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists with additional accreditation from the College’s faculty of pain medicine. He is also a recognised fellow in interventional pain practice at the World Institute of Pain, USA and achieved a diploma in regional anaesthesia and acute pain management from the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia in 2014.
Dr Phukan was appointed as a consultant in anaesthetics and pain management within Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in 2009. He sees private patients at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital, Ashtead Hospital and North Downs Hospital. He is a member of numerous esteemed societies, including the Spine Intervention Society and the British Pain Society.
