Dr Dennis Bielecki is a diagnostic radiologist and teleradiologist with over 25 years of academic experience specialising in bone and joint radiology. He is intensely interested in inflammatory and non-inflammatory diseases of the joints and spine, crystal deposition diseases and bone tumours.
A seasoned educator, Dr Bielecki imparts his knowledge to medical students, residents, registrars, and fellows through personalised interactions and lectures. His rapid reporting skills allow him to interpret up to 180 cases per session. He is developing a comprehensive 45-lecture series on essential musculoskeletal imaging for King's College Hospital's Radiology Registrar Training Programme.
Dr Bielecki, a product of mentorship himself, is now a mentor to many in the field of radiology. He completed a research fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, Veterans Administration Medical Center, under the guidance of Donald Resnick, MD, who continues to be his mentor. During his fellowship, he contributed to publishing six peer-reviewed research papers. His influence extends to supervising 23 educational posters presented at various prestigious meetings, including the European Congress of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the European Society of Skeletal Radiology, and the International Skeletal Society. In 2025, he will moderate the MSK Poster Award Session at the American Roentgen Ray Meeting in San Diego.
Dr Bielecki's leadership in training programmes is a testament to his expertise and commitment to the field. Having trained over 250 radiology residents and developed training programs for rheumatology fellows in the United States, he has proven his ability to guide and shape future professionals. In the United Kingdom, he is an official mentor for Health Education England (HEE) and a reading radiographer trainer. He has fully supervised the training of ten reading radiographers and assisted ten others in obtaining certification.
Dr Bielecki was appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Imaging Sciences at King's College London and currently works in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He also serves as a visiting professor of radiology at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. He has worked full-time at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2018.
