Mr Duncan Whitwell is a leading Oxford-based consultant orthopaedic and tumour surgeon, who specialises in conditions and treatments such as knee replacement, hip replacement, as well as sarcoma. The highly esteemed doctor also possesses possesses a special interest in orthopaedic oncology and revision knee and hip replacement surgery.
Impressively, Mr Whitwell is also a current lead consultant at the well-established and extremely reputable Oxford Bone and Soft Tissue Service. In this role, he specialises in bone and soft tissue cancer treatment and reconstruction. His main areas of medical research interest lie in computer-navigated hip and knee arthroplasty, hip disease in young patients, as well as the treatment of both bone and soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic bone disease.
Mr Whitwell graduated from Nottingham University and trained in Bristol, Oxford and Brisbane before taking up his consultant positions at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and The Manor Hospital, which he has occupied since 2005.
