Mr Fadi Kherdaji is an accomplished ophthalmologist at the Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital with a diverse international background in eye care. He specialises in refractive surgery, cataract surgery, cornea, dry eye, keratoprostheses and LASIK.
 
In 2005, he embarked on a fellowship in surgical retinal procedures at the renowned Western Eye Hospital in London, showcasing his commitment to excellence in eye care. In 2006, he further honed his skills by undertaking a higher surgical fellowship specialising in medical and surgical retinal diseases in Singapore. During this period, his dedication and proficiency were recognised when he received the International Council of Ophthalmology fellowship.
 
Mr Kherdaji pursued a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of San Diego, California, in 2007. This pivotal experience allowed him to collaborate with a pioneering refractive surgeon at the CODET Vision Institute in Tijuana, Mexico, further enriching his repertoire of skills and knowledge.
 
Upon returning to his homeland, Damascus, Mr Fadi Kherdaji established the Eye and Ear Surgical Hospital in Damascus, Syria. In this role, he assumed the position of chief surgeon, specialising in retinal, corneal, and refractive conditions, thus becoming a key figure in the advancement of eye care in the region.
 
In 2012, he returned to the UK, becoming a consultant surgeon in primary, cornea, and retina conditions at Cheltenham General Hospital. He initiated a specialised refractive surgical unit in Gloucestershire, with refractive surgery performed in London.
 
In more recent years, Mr Fadi Kherdaji co-founded Gloucestershire Newmedica in collaboration with colleagues Mr Adam Ross, Mr Nigel Kirkpatrick, and Carl Hall. Today, he continues to work in partnership with his colleagues to strengthen and expand the services offered, with locations in Swindon and Gloucester.
 
With over 10,000 cataract surgeries and a decade of experience, Mr Kherdaji is a respected cataract surgeon. His expertise in refractive surgery, cataracts, and corneal conditions make him a prominent figure in the UK's eye care community.
