Mr Haitham Khalil is a consultant oncoplastic and reconstructive surgeon, specialising in advanced breast surgery and reconstruction. He practises privately at The Harborne Hospital.
After graduating from Cairo University Medical School in 1995, he embarked on a distinguished career at the National Cancer Institute and the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of Cairo University Hospitals, earning both an MSc and MD during his nine-year tenure.
Seeking further expertise, Mr Khalil completed an international fellowship at King’s College and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, gaining specialised experience in microvascular surgery. Since 2008, he has held a consultant position, and in 2009, he introduced microvascular surgery for breast reconstruction at Good Hope Hospital, Birmingham. He was also the first surgeon to perform microvascular breast reconstruction at Spire Parkway in 2015.
Mr Khalil performs around 300 breast oncoplastic procedures annually and is recognised for his unique combination of reconstructive expertise and an oncological background, allowing him to offer highly individualised care to cancer patients.
He is also deeply involved in educational initiatives, serving as an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
