Mr Hari Sugathan is a highly experienced consultant foot and ankle surgeon based in Lancashire, practising at The Highfield Hospital. He specialises in both elective and trauma conditions affecting the lower limb, including sports injuries, ankle arthritis, bunions, forefoot and hindfoot disorders, and complex tendon and deformity problems.
Mr Sugathan qualified in 1999 from the University of Kerala and completed his specialist trauma and orthopaedic training in the North East of England. He further developed his expertise through advanced Foot and Ankle Fellowships in Stockport and Lyon, France in 2015, working alongside internationally recognised surgeons. He was appointed as a substantive consultant at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, where he continues to contribute to high-quality orthopaedic care.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Sugathan is actively involved in surgical training and co-leads a well-established Foot and Ankle Fellowship programme in Stockport. He is committed to delivering clear, honest, and patient-centred care, ensuring patients are fully informed about both non-operative and operative management options. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences, and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the British Orthopaedic Association, and the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
