Dr Hsien Herbert Chan is a highly regarded dermatologist based in London. He specialises in skin checks, skin cancer management, mole examinations, acne, and inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Known for his meticulous and patient-focused approach, Dr Chan combines clinical precision with a deep understanding of complex dermatological concerns, offering personalised care to each of his patients.
Originally trained in Australia, Dr Chan completed his dermatology training in Sydney following a DPhil in Clinical Immunology (Atopic Dermatitis) at the University of Oxford. His extensive experience includes positions at leading hospitals such as the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he led the Confocal Microscopy Clinic, and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where he coordinated dermatological care for solid organ transplant patients. He also undertook further subspecialty training in confocal microscopy and melanoma surveillance at the Melanoma Institute Australia.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr Chan is actively involved in research and medical education. He is a contributing author of the Australian Cancer Council’s updated Clinical Practice Guidelines for Keratinocyte Cancer and has published widely on dermatological conditions. He has held Post Doctoral Research positions at both the Centenary Institute and the Charles Perkins Centre and as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney School of Medicine.
