Professor Jaswinder Gill is a consultant cardiologist at Circle Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow and London Bridge Hospital, part of HCA UK. His specialties include the treatment of heart palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath and atrial fibrillation, and he has expertise in performing catheter ablations and the implantation of pacemakers. Moreover, he offers services as an expert witness for medico-legal cases.
Professor Gill graduated from Cambridge University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree, and again in 1980 with a further bachelor’s degree in medicine. Upon completing his basic and specialist cardiology training in Birmingham and London, he was appointed consultant cardiologist to Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 1995, for which he has set up the electrophysiology unit and the arrhythmia services. He was the lead of the team that performed the first hybrid atrial fibrillation ablations, instituting a new convergent ablation procedure in the UK
In addition to his clinical practice, Professor Gill is an active researcher and educator. He is Professor of Cardiology at King’s College London, and has lectured for several international courses and conferences. He has previously been the associated editor of the journal Frontiers in Electrophysiology, and has over written 200 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters, and a co-authored book. He has been a reviewer for electrophysiology journals such as Heart Rhythm, Circulation, JCE, and the International Journal of Cardiology. He is currently partaking in an ongoing study on Converge PAS, which aims to evaluate the clinical outcomes for treatments of patients with long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation.
