Professional statement

Mr Jeremy (Jez) Brown is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery practising at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Sheffield. He is also a founding partner of Sheffield Orthopaedics Limited, a local group of surgeons committed to delivering high-quality orthopaedic care to active patients of all ages.

Mr Brown trained in Sheffield and across the South Yorkshire Orthopaedic rotation, and further enhanced his skills during a year at the renowned Sportsmed Clinic in Adelaide, Australia. There, he refined advanced surgical techniques for managing sports-related knee injuries. He is an active member of the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, and a founding member of the 2020 Group, a national network of leading knee surgeons dedicated to advancing the field through education and collaboration.

With extensive clinical experience, Mr Brown provides practical, evidence-based solutions to knee problems. He offers a comprehensive range of knee procedures, including cartilage repair, ligament reconstruction, and joint replacement, with particular expertise in partial knee replacement. He has been a pioneer in this area, contributing to an international development group with colleagues in the USA, Australia and Europe to advance modern arthroplasty techniques.

Mr Brown is also deeply committed to education and training. He mentors orthopaedic registrars locally and runs a fellowship programme at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, helping surgeons develop advanced skills in the treatment of complex knee soft tissue conditions.
