Mr Kawan Shalli is a highly respected consultant colorectal surgeon based in Lanarkshire and Glasgow with more than thirty years’ experience. He is renowned for his expertise in colorectal surgery and the treatment of cancerous and benign colorectal conditions. He additionally specialises in laparoscopic surgery, therapeutic colonoscopy, pelvic floor prolapse and dysfunction and incisional hernia.
Mr Shalli qualified in medicine in Iraq in 1990 and achieved fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2001 and fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons’ in the specialty of general surgery and colorectal surgery in 2009. He has been appointed as a consultant colorectal and laparoscopic surgeon at NHS Lanarkshire since 2011. Additional to his clinical responsibilities, Mr Shalli is a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and an examiner for the College’s intercollegiate membership MRCS and preparatory course in the west of Scotland. He is also an honorary clinical senior lecturer at the University of Glasgow and previous core surgical training committee member.
