Mr Manoj Mathai (Anicatt) is a renowned consultant ophthalmologist based in Wigan, with more than 25 years of experience. Mr Mathai Anicatt is highly experienced in numerous ophthalmological conditions and treatments, with his areas of expertise including cataracts surgery (simple and complex), refractive lens surgery, laser refractive surgery, glaucoma (medical and surgical), corneal diseases and ocular surface diseases.

Mr Mathai is Clinical Lead of the Ophthalmology department based at Boston House Eye Unit, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust. He also leads on the cataract, cornea, and glaucoma subspecialties, within the department.

Mr Mathai currently practises privately at Boston House Eye Unit, Wigan. He practises Laser Refractive Surgery at Visualase Laser Eye Clinic in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
 
Mr Mathai first qualified with an MBBS from the prestigious Kasturba Medical College in India, before going on to train in the UK. He was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1995.

Mr Mathai is committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in eye research and sugery techniques. He is a member of the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the British Society of Refractive Surgeons and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
