Dr Marisa Taylor is a highly accomplished and experienced consultant dermatologist who specialises in acne, acne scars, skin surgery, skin allergies, light sources, skin cancer treatment, medical dermatology, skin of colour dermatology, aesthetic dermatology, intense pulsed light, as well as skin biopsy, amongst others. She is also an honorary senior lecturer and former undergraduate lead at St.Mary's Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and currently practises privately at the London-based Stratum Dermatology Clinic.
She successfully completed an MBBS at The University of the West Indies in Jamaica in 2002, before going on to undertake her specialist training in dermatology throughout the South Wales region. Following this, she would then obtain two distinctions in both her diploma in clinical dermatology (2006) as well as master's degree in dermatology from Cardiff University (2006), before later completing a dermatology PhD at said university in 2013. Apart from her areas of expertise that have been mentioned above, Dr Taylor possesses a strong medical and research interest in aesthetic dermatology.
During her time spent studying at Cardiff University, she gained an extensive amount of teaching experience, holding the roles as tutor for both the clinical and practical dermatology diplomas at Cardiff University, as well as clinical dermatology master's degree student supervisor. She is, today, a regular journal reviewer of highly established journals including the British Journal of Dermatology and the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
