Professional statement
Dr Muhsin Almusawy is a Clinical Lead Consultant haematologist in Bedford who diagnoses and treats all blood diseases, including all types of anaemia, red blood cell disorders and all types of blood and bone marrow cancers. He has experience in all aspects of malignant and non-malignant haematology and their management, including haemostasis and thrombosis with a lot of experience in the new anticoagulant drugs.
Dr Almusawy studied and trained for his postgraduate in medicine in Scandinavia before moving to the UK where he has been on the specialist register as a consultant since 2008. He spent a number of years working and training in many different hospitals in the UK, including the Manchester Royal Infirmary, Hammersmith Hospital in London and at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
Dr Almusawy is the Lead Consultant for haematology services at Bedford Hospital. He acts as the Chair of the Haemostasis and Thrombosis committee. Dr Almusawy is the Principal Investigator on two national and international research projects.
