Dr Oana Anton is a highly accomplished consultant paediatrician based in Sussex, where she practices at Sussex Premier Health. She has particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of food allergies, asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis and urticaria, providing comprehensive care for children with both common and complex allergic conditions. Her approach is patient-centred, with a strong emphasis on accurate diagnosis, long-term management and improving quality of life for children and their families.
A distinctive aspect of Dr Anton’s practice is her multidisciplinary, one-stop clinic model at the East Sussex Children’s Allergy Clinic. Children and families benefit from coordinated care delivered by Dr Anton alongside a dedicated paediatric allergy and asthma nurse specialist, with the option to see a paediatric dietitian during the same visit. This integrated approach allows for comprehensive assessment, diagnostic testing, education, and personalised dietary advice within a single appointment. Patients may choose to have a consultation with Dr Anton alone or a combined consultation with both Dr Anton and the dietitian, ensuring care is tailored to each child’s individual needs.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Anton has developed advanced expertise in paediatric respiratory medicine through specialist training and academic development, including a Master’s degree in Medical Research and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Brighton and Sussex Medical School. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and has completed specialist respiratory training (SPIN module), reinforcing her focused expertise in childhood respiratory and allergic disease.
Dr Anton is also actively involved in clinical research and medical education, contributing to studies aimed at improving paediatric respiratory and neonatal care, and serving as a principal investigator in NHS research projects. She is passionate about teaching and training the next generation of clinicians, regularly contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate education. Her combined clinical, academic and educational work ensures her practice is informed by the latest evidence and best practice in paediatric allergy and respiratory medicine.
