Professor Panayiotis Kyzas is a highly esteemed and experienced consultant oral and maxillofacial H&N surgeon who specialises in oral cancer, head and neck cancer, facial skin cancer, salivary gland surgery, wisdom teeth extraction, facial aesthetics, as well as facial pain. He is currently practising at The Huddersfield Hospital, as well as at The Wilmslow Hospital.
Professor Kyzas is an accredited medical expert witness and provides medical negligence and personal injury reports within his field of expertise. He is also an expert when it comes to oral lesions excisions, lip lesions removal, fat transfer surgery, jaw cysts removals, lymph node biopsies, blepharoplasties, brow lift surgery, neck lift surgery, and rhinoplasty. He has successfully completed higher surgical specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery and was awarded a CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) and is also an accredited head and neck and microvascular surgeon. On top of that, Professor Kyzas impressively undertook one of the most prestigious UK training interface fellowships in head and neck surgical oncology (TIG H&N).
He currently holds a host of different national leadership posts, such as Quality Assurance lead and specialty representative for the UK training interface head and neck surgical oncology fellowship at Health Education England North West, and he is the Clinical Director for Cancer Services at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. He was appointed as a visiting Professor in OMFS H&N Surgery at Edge Hill University in August 2023. Professor Kyzas has published over 65 peer-reviewed papers and has over 5,000 citations. He is the Deputy Editor for BJOMS, and has a special interest in research and innovation, patient-specific reconstructive planning with the use of 3D printer technology, facial cosmetics and post-oral cancer rehabilitation.
