Dr Paola Giunti is an Honorary Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), the UK’s biggest dedicated neurological and neurosurgical hospital. Dr Giunti studied at Sapienza, University of Rome, before establishing herself as one of the leaders in her field in London. Her special interests include neurodegenerative diseases, neurorehabilitation, and neurogenetics. An expert in ataxia, she established the Ataxia Centre at NHNN, which went on to become the first of its kind to be accredited as a centre of clinical excellence by the ataxia charity, Ataxia UK. Actively involved in research, Dr Giunti has also contributed to numerous journals and publications and is set to lead University College London Hospital for a Europe-wide collaboration on neurological diseases.
