Mr Paul Thiruchelvam is a consultant breast and reconstructive surgeon at New Victoria Hospital, renowned for his expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery and lymphoedema prevention. With a solid foundation from Imperial College and extensive training across prestigious institutions, Mr Thiruchelvam has developed a specialisation in both breast reconstruction and preventative techniques for lymphoedema.
After completing his surgical training in London and a National Oncoplastic Group (TIG) fellowship at Nottingham Breast Institute, he furthered his expertise through international fellowships at MD Anderson, Mayo Clinic, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centres. His pioneering work in lymphoedema prevention, including his role as Chair of the ACS Oncoplastic Breast Surgery faculty and involvement in developing guidelines for the American Society of Breast Surgeons, highlights his commitment to advancing breast cancer care.
Mr Thiruchelvam also holds a PhD in molecular oncology from Imperial College, where he conducted significant research on chest wall perforator flaps for breast reconstruction.
