Mr Ran Wei is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in specilalising in knee surgery in London. His areas of expertise are sports injuries, ACL reconstruction and joint preservation surgery, alongside knee osteoarthritis, partial knee replacement, and knee replacement. He privately practises at New Victoria Hospital, while his NHS base is Kingston & Richmond NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Wei graduated from the University of Manchester in 2010, and went on to undertake specialist training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in the southwest London region. He developed extensive expertise in knee surgery, further refining his skills through international training. He completed a fellowship at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre, where, alongside Dr David Wood, he treated elite athletes. Upon returning to the UK, he further advanced his expertise as a Knee Surgery Fellow at Frimley Park Hospital.
Mr Wei is dedicated to excellence in orthopaedic training and patient care. He has held leadership roles, including serving as President of the British Orthopaedic Trainee Association. There, he contributed to national improvements in orthopaedic education and clinical practice. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and an active member of professional organisations, including the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Association and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee.
