Professor Ray Powles is a highly reputable London-based Haemato-oncologist. His achievements throughout his career were recognised in 2003 when he was awarded a CBE from the Queen and in 2013 when he received a 'Pride of Britain' lifetime achievement award. He is currently head of haemo-oncology at Parkside Hospital and has a special interest in leukaemia, myeloma and blood cancer. Outside of his clinic he has been at the forefront of research and in his field. He has written over 1,200 papers and forms an integral part of myriad professional bodies including the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Myeloma Working Group and the Scientific Committee for Plasma Cell Biology.
