Miss Roopa Bangari

Miss Roopa Bangari is a consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician in London with expertise in abnormal smears, colposcopy and heavy menstrual bleeding, alongside menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, endometrial and ovarian cancer, and ovarian cysts. Miss Bangari privately practises at London Gynaecology (City of London), The Blackheath Hospital and Chelsfield Park Hospital, while her NHS base is Medway Maritime Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Miss Bangari, who offers a wide range of one-stop gynaecology services, including coil fitting and removal, loop excision procedures, and minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, has over 20 years of experience in general gynaecology and gynaecological cancer.

Her clinical practice is broad, encompassing menstrual disorders, polycystic ovaries, menopause, adolescent gynaecology and postmenopausal bleeding. She takes a holistic approach to care, offering both surgical and non-surgical options and prioritising each patient’s individual needs and preferences. She has been recognised with a Clinical Excellence Award from her NHS trust and has received multiple commendations from King’s College London for her teaching contributions. Miss Bangari has published articles and presented at regional, national and international conferences.

Miss Bangari completed her medical and postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Mysore, India, in 1999, and has worked in the NHS since 2007. Her training included posts at University Hospital Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich and King’s College Hospital London. She became a consultant in 2017 at Medway Maritime Hospital, where she also serves as lead for clinical governance. She has been named undergraduate supervisor of the year in 2025 from King's College London, for her teaching contribution. Additionally, she leads undergraduate women’s health teaching at King’s College London and Kent and Medway Medical School.
