Mr Saif Salih is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery. He also sees patients privately in Sheffield, offering expert care for a wide range of hip and knee conditions.
Mr Salih has been part of the Lower Limb Arthroplasty Unit at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals since 2019. He studied medicine at the University of Oxford and went on to gain a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, followed by an MD from the University of Bristol, where he investigated metal-on-metal implants in young patients.
His higher surgical training was completed in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, after which he undertook a fellowship in young adult hip surgery with Johan Witt in London, focusing on hip arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy. He also completed the prestigious Cavendish Fellowship in Sheffield, gaining advanced expertise in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Salih has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and was awarded a Research Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He continues to maintain a strong research interest within his current practice, contributing to the development of safer and more effective treatments for patients.
