Mr Saurabh Mehta is a highly experienced and meticulous consultant orthopaedic shoulder and upper limb surgeon based in Newcastle under Lyme, currently practising at Nuffield Health North Staffordshire Hospital and Rowley Hall Hospital. He has seen over 5,000 episodes of patients and has been practising privately since 2015. Mr Mehta specialises in the treatment of complex upper limb conditions including frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, carpal tunnel syndrome, and shoulder replacement. With over 30 years of experience, he combines advanced arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques and joint replacement surgery to manage both degenerative and sports-related shoulder and upper limb disorders.
Mr Mehta obtained his medical degree in India, where he was awarded gold medals in both MBBS and MS Orthopaedics. He completed his basic surgical training in Leeds and went on to pursue higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics in London and Leicester. His specialist expertise was further enhanced through fellowships at internationally renowned centres: the Wrightington Hospital, where he focused on shoulder and upper limb surgery, and the British Orthopaedic Association’s travelling fellowship at Hôpital L’Archet in Nice, France.
A passionate educator and researcher, Mr Mehta regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. He has delivered numerous presentations to national and international orthopaedic societies, and has authored several publications on shoulder instability, frozen shoulder, tendon injuries and small joint conditions. - Received hydro distention injection for a severe frozen shoulder. Significant improvement within days but after 6 weeks movement if fully recovered and no pain. - Treated for Frozen Shoulder with steroid injection. Whilst still not entirely pain free it is almost back to normal in terms of range of movement.
